Bridge MAP (Modified Atmosphere Packaging) Analyzers

Model 900131 Tri-Gas Case-Ready Meat Headspace Gas Analyzer

Bridge's MAP headspace gas analyzers are used to measure the gases inside a product package – no matter if you fill the package with a complex process gas, or simply backflush it with nitrogen.  The analyzers below will enable you to measure backflush efficiency by measuring residual O2, as well as measure the final process gas concentrations.

There are several MAP analyzers to choose from, depending on your application:

900131 Hi/Lo Ox Tri-Gas Analyzer (CO, CO2, O2)
900122 Lo Ox Tri-Gas Analyzer (CO, CO2, O2)
900141 2-Gas Analyzer (CO2, O2)
900041 O2 Analyzer
900051 CO2 Analyzer

The MAP Series analyzers are rugged units of industrial design, taking laboratory grade accuracy out to the line.  They are fully digital, with simple, intuitive controls, and provide uncommon accuracy and utility – either in the QA Lab or on the line.

CO and CO2 measurements are accomplished by time-proven NDIR infrared technology, so periodic calibration or replacement of exhausted chemical sensors is unnecessary.  These analyzers have built-in autoranging, which allows uncommon gas sensitivity and range.  CO2 is measured to 0.01% resolution, while CO and O2 are measured to 0.001% resolution – providing unique capability for measuring very low levels of residual oxygen for oxygen-free packaging.

The Oxygen sensor is automatically checked for sensitivity and calibrated during the ambient air oxygen Zero calibration process.  The chemical sensor used for oxygen measurement is insensitive to other gases in the package headspace, but very sensitive to Oxygen.  It has a 12 to 18 month life, and is field changeable and auto-calibrating - the analyzers do not have to be returned for oxygen sensor service.  The customer simply orders a new sensor when the analyzer advises that the sensor is becoming low sensitivity, changes the sensor in the field, the analyzer auto-calibrates it, and testing continues.

If desired, a simple built-in procedure makes adjusting the CO, CO2, and O2, gas readings to match certified process gas a user-friendly and intuitive process – resulting in superior analysis confidence.

The analyzers are very rugged and small, only 6 x 3 x 31/2 inches, protected by an 8 x 6 x 5 inch foam-filled soft case. They weigh just 5 lbs., and are readily UPS shippable.

The internal battery pack provides 8 hours of operation per charge, or they may be operated indefinitely from mains power.

Package headspace gas is measured by inserting a sample needle into the package and pressing a Test button. The analyzer draws a headspace gas sample for the commanded time (10 seconds standard), measures the gas concentrations and freezes the readings on the display until the next sample cycle is commanded by the operator.

During sample measurement, the operator can see the measurement values as they are being generated, providing instant validation of test technique.  User controls allow the adjustment of the gas sampling time in 1 second increments.

Products are complete with soft case, sample line, needle, and filters (1 spare), manual, and battery charger/remote power unit.

An analyzer digital communication port is provided for data interface to either PC data display/capture software or a standalone serial printer.

See below for a description of the standard MAP accessories and supplies available for the Bridge Analyzers, Inc MAP Gas Analyzer products.

All of the Bridge analyzers are printer capable, meaning that the Serial Printer accessory, a standalone battery powered printer, can be used to produce a hardcopy record of the test gases.
