We are doing lots of exploration into how whole bean and ground coffee ages, over days, weeks, months, years. We like to keep track of gaseous changes that take place within a package of whole or ground coffee and the CO2/O2 Bridge MAP Analyzer Model 9001 helps us track any changes in oxygen and carbon dioxide.
Our company is dedicated to innovation and exploration of coffee as an evolving cultural staple. We have a new product releasing in a couple weeks called Blue Bottle Perfectly Ground, which is pre-ground coffee that tastes just as fresh as if it were ground moments before. We used the Bridge Analyzer during our R&D process.

My Dad started Bob’s Carbs back in the mid 80’s. Our previous analyzers have always been large roll around units and when it became unreliable we started researching gas analyzers. In summary, Bridge’s exhaust gas analyzers assist in determining the efficiency of a combustion source as well as collecting advanced emissions data for internal use and for local, state and federal emissions reporting requirements.
This shows a typical process for testing the low levels of oxygen in a coffee k-cup package. The Bridge Analyzer will test levels down to 0.000%. Most food packaging processes seeking to minimize residual oxygen have a specification of less than 2.00% oxygen. In some specialized cases, companies can require levels less than 1.00%. These levels can be confirmed with a portable sample needle based analyzer using detailed and proven sample protocols.
This is a technique for cleaning the oxygen gas analyzer’s sample needle. The analyzer is a 900043 low volume headspace unit used for applications like snack pack trays, lunch meat packs and coffee k-cup package testing. The needle is directly coupled to the oxygen sensor so the amount of sample gas required to obain na accurate test is very small.
