Antenna Range for Wireless Sensors

Antenna Range for Wireless Sensors

Antenna range will vary based on signal power, system hardware and environment. In most cases, it is best to have a line-of-sight from the transmitting and receiving antennas without obstructions and interferences. Etesian offers several different varieties of antennas.

Rubber Duckie, Stick Antenna has a range of 50 meters (160 ft.).

This is the most common and simplest antenna. They come in straight or swivel mount models. The typical expected range is 50 meters.

High Gain Yagi antenna has a range of 150 meters (490 ft.)

If long distance is required, the Yagi antenna is the best option. It will need to be independently mounted. This is typically only used on the receiving side but could be used on the transmitting side if necessary.

NMO Style antenna has a range of 80 meters (260 ft.)

This is a widely used antenna that has an integrated or separate connection cable. It is offered in a cabinet bulkhead mount of a magnetic mount as shown below. Etesian supplies the magnetic mount NMO antenna for crane applications as it can attach magnetically to the top of the crane cab.

Bulkhead mounts are perfect for gaining line-of-sight access outside of an enclosed control panel or vault room.
